The Groveland Fire Department uses an online system to allow residents to register their Open Burning Permits. A burn permit is required for any open air fire in Groveland. Open burning season is January 15 through May 1.
As part of the permit application process a $10 fee is required.
First, Click Here to Register Your 2024 Open Burning Permit.
Second, Please pay online at City Hall Systems and Select “Buy Burning Permit” or send a check or money order payable to the Town of Groveland, to the Groveland Fire Department 181 Main Street, Groveland, MA 01834.
Your permit will not be approved until your payment has been received. Please allow 5 to 7 days after sending payment for permit approval. Once the payment is received you will be notified of the permit approval via email.
On days that you are burning, you must activate your burn by logging into the firepermits.com portal.
Weather conditions, lack of rain and moisture, wind and other factors may suspend the granting of an authorization to begin burning at any time. IF conditions do not allow for open burning, you will be unable to activate your burn.
