The Groveland Fire Department offers the community public education classes to prevent fires before they happen, and to educate on what to do if fires do occur. Fire Education is an extension of the overall Fire Prevention Division.
Currently GFD focuses on two target populations to provide classes and information sessions to; children and the elderly. These two populations of individuals are at a higher risk of making mistakes that could result in fire, and are many times at a disadvantage if a fire does occur, due to mobility issues and delayed decision making. While the focus is on the above groups of people, education is not limited to them. The Groveland Fire Department will happily educate any person or groups of people who wish to make themselves fire safe.
We ask that if you, your family, or your organization wish to learn more, please contact the Fire Education Coordinator.
